I am a food stylist, restaurant photographer, recipe developer, and writer. I love working with brands, restaurants, and blogs to bring stories to life.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and attended Kent State University for fashion design in 2013. After finishing my degree, I worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a menswear apparel designer until 2021.
I’ve always had a passion for creating; coupled with an adventurous appetite, food became a natural medium for me. Before I even knew what food styling was, I was arranging my dinners on the plate to be picture-perfect for my old iPhone 5, the grainy photos becoming nightly rituals for just a few of my friends to see.
It was only when the pandemic stopped the world that my new career began.
My photography journey officially started with a gifted camera: A used Nikon D3500 that went to my very first restaurant gigs, captured my beginning recipes, and launched my Instagram. After exploring the possibilities of a career in food, I dove deeper into the culinary and advertising worlds, earning certifications in both nutrition coaching and content marketing. I also worked as a production baker at one of Cleveland’s largest bakeries, creating everything from lemon bars to cream-layered crepe cakes.
I am now located in Cleveland, Ohio, and work as a food stylist, restaurant photographer, recipe developer, and writer. I have worked with brands such as Olive Garden, Burger King, Vitamix, Libbey Glass, Tasting Table, Goldthread Tonics, and Lumpia City.
I’d love to work with you and your brand. To work with me, please reach out at hello@michellemcglinn.com.
